REALITY UK is back this timeto raise funds to support the Bingiriya Care Home purchase a plot of land at the side of the property in order to build a dormitory and allow the women and children with learning disabilities to have a better life.
The home is a small sized three bedroom bungalow which is overcrowded and accommodates 26 children and adults with learning disabilities. Unfortunately all are living in two rooms and there are insufficient bathing and living facilities.
In November 2011 an Executive Committee Member with Reality UK's Patron Ven. Akurala Sumitha visited the care home and assisted the owners to negotiate the purchase of the plot of land. The funds required to purchase the land is Rs800,000. It is hopeful that the New Years Eve Dance on 31st December 2011 will prove successful. Lets all come together to help "Change a Life" in the new year 2012.
REALITY have identified that a substantial number of children who
are born with this difficulty have to grow up with severe disadvantages.
These marginalised children and youth need your help very badly.
Unless urgent and skilful help is provided to overcome this deficiency they will remain marginalised. Sri Lankan children deserveto be helped, and this is where REALITY has focused their attention.
We want to give their unreserved support and backing to put a smile on their faces. Project Bingiriya 2010 is to focus on raising funds to support a care home in Bingiriya, Sri Lanka. The home is a small sized three bedroom bungalow which is overcrowded and accommodates 26 children and adults with learning disabilities. Unfortunately all are living in two rooms and there are insufficient bathing and cooking facilities.
The owner of house was over 60 years of and suffered herself from parkinson's disease and was permatley bed ridden; due to lack of medical support she sadly passed away on the 18th November 2010.
The work that is to be undertaken will involve working in
partnership with communities to improve the quality of life
of these children and youth by providing basic Living
i.e. proper kitchen, beds, toilet & bathroom facilities in addition to the skilled educational support needed.

We are back with another grand New Years Eve Event to raise further funds to support the care home in Bingiriya, Sri Lanka for female adults and children with learning disabilities.
We need to raise Rs 800,000 to purchase a plot of land to help the owners build a dormitory for the 26 women and children with learning disabilities living in the care home.
The New Years Eve Dance will be held at one of our sponsor's venue the very elegant RnB Banqueting Hall 366A Stang Lane, Kingsbury, London, NW9 9AA.
We will be honoured with the performances of Neil Warnakulasuriya and Nelson Waas of the Sunflowers together with Saman De Silva and Vincent De Paul Peiris. A raffle, auction, Baila Competition and a King and Queen Competition Night will be held.
